I’ve been using silicone spatulas for years, both in professional kitchens and at home. The fact that this spatula is sturdy enough to handle a cookie dough being mixed, and can handle the heat of making a pastry cream on the stove means it is one of my most versatile tools.

This sturdy, heatproof spatula has a flat side for leveling batter and a curved side for scraping bowls thoroughly and because it is flat, it can be used with your left or right hand equally.

anna's top tips

  • I use the curved side of the spatula to scrape the edges of my bowl when making cookie doughs or cake batters, and I use the flat side, to spread batter in my pans, or scrape the sides of my pot when cooking a custard.
  • This spatula can be used for any recipe calling for a wooden spoon – it won’t stain or absorb odours.
  • Scraping your bowls and pans is the easiest way to prevent food waste (a lesson we learn early on in cooking school) and a well-scraped bowl is easier to clean!
